Sometimes we’re so busy chasing the next destination that we forget to look just a few steps outside our own door.
This morning, I took a moment to admire the flowers growing on my patio, and it reminded me of something simple but important: some of life’s greatest beauty is already around us. We just stop noticing it.
The colours, the fresh blooms, the visiting butterflies and bees, the quiet breeze… they’re there almost every day, waiting patiently while we rush from one task to another.
Barrie is filled with beautiful parks, beaches, forests, and waterfront views, but beauty isn’t limited to famous places. It can be found in a small flower pot on a balcony, a backyard garden, a front porch, or a single blossom catching the morning sunlight.
Perhaps today is a good day to slow down for a minute.
Take a look around your own patio, garden, or neighbourhood. You may discover that nature has been putting on a beautiful show every day, and all it needed was someone to notice.
